The PoP works in close conjunction with the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) of the United States. The NCSL is a leading society for American state legislatures under which approximately 7,500 representatives and 20,000 staff members are organized. NSCL headquarters are located in Denver, Colorado. The member of the Delaware Senate, Senator Donna Stone, is currently serving as NCSL President and Mr. William T. Pound is Executive Director. The NCSL maintains a vital branch office in the U.S. capital of Washington DC.

The Partnership of Parliaments also works closely with the State Legislative Leaders Foundation (SLLF) in Massachusetts. Membership in the SLLF is extended to the Senate Presidents, Speakers, and House and Senate Majority and Minority Leaders. The office of the Chair of the SLLF Board of Directors is currently held by the Honorable Lois M. DeBerry, House Speaker Pro Tem from Tennessee. Mr. Stephen G. Lakis is the President of the State Legislative Leaders Foundation.
In 1999, SLLF expanded their activities to include Europe. Chair of the European Board 2007/2008 is The Hon. Liubisha Georgievski, Speaker of the National Assembly of Macedonia. The board of directors of SLLF/Europe is comprised of representatives from 25 European nations. Germany is represented by The Hon. Sylvia Bretschneider, Speaker of the House, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, The Hon. Dieter Steinecke, Speaker of the House, Sachsen-Anhalt, as well as The Hon. Peter Straub, Speaker of the Baden-Württemberg House.
